2007 County Earth Day Event and Barn Dance« 14.04.2007 | Calendar Saturday, 21 April 20072007 County Earth Day Event and Barn DanceSaturday, April 21 in Warwick The Earth Day Event is ON!The rains and floods from last weekend have not impacted the earth day events and barn dance at the Rogowski farm this Saturday April 21. Please Join Us either at the farm from 11am-9pm or at the Warwick Middle School from 11am-5pm!!! A 2007 County Earth Day Event is planned for Saturday, April 21 in Warwick. The Earth Day Event will take place from 11am-5pm in 2 locations: the Warwick Middle School and the Rogowski Farm in Pine Island/Warwick. Schedule of Events | Directions At the Middle School, there will be a Global Warming Forum with several speakers discussing our impacts on global warming, and local and regional solutions to Global Warming. There will be a showing of the Inconvenient Truth Slide Show, Green Home discussion and slide show, Solar and Geothermal initiatives in NY State, the Food and Fuel Connection-why local farming is key to slowing global warming, Warwick School’s energy conservation efforts, Corporate Responsibility-being a climate neutral company, Will Steger’s Polar Global Warming Research Expedition and much more. Scattered between both locations, enjoy green exhibits, two “Kids Village’s” with tons of activities for kids of all ages, a tree planting in Pine Island with the Pine Island Beautification Committee, craft and business vendors, cast your vote on the earth day poster contest winner, Community Supported Agriculture demos, Organic Cooking Demos, Book Signings, Solar Demos, Extensive Geothermal and Solar literature, sustainable food, and lots of music and entertainment. A Barn Dance then begins at 5pm till 9pm at the Rogowski Farm, our feature band, the Glory Bound Band, with play country and bluegrass music. Buffet dinner will be served ($5 for children, $12 for adults); organic wine and beer will be served. Sponsors are Orange Environment, the Community Supported Agriculture Rogowski Farm in Pine Island, the Warwick High School Environmental Club and Sustainable Warwick.
