You may obtain additional information and aregistration form by calling the office of the Orange County DPW, Division of Environmental Facilities and Services at 1-800-328-4808, (845) 291-2643 or email: efs@co.orange.ny.us. The form can also be obtained on the County web page @ www.orangecountygov.com (choose County Dept., then Environmental Services, look for Household Hazardous Waste information). The form must be printed and completed. The form must be received a week prior to the event to be pre-registered. We are now accepting Electronic Equipment for Recycling at the Orange County Transfer Stations located in Goshen, Newburgh, and Port Jervis during normal business hours. 2008 HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENTS NOTICE

EVENT #1: ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT, MONTGOMERY''' Friday, APRIL 11TH: Small Quantity Generators (Must be pre-registered by MARCH 28TH) Saturday, APRIL 12TH: Residents – PROOF OF RESIDENCY must be presented at time of disposal.

EVENT #2: PORT JERVIS FIRE TRAINING CENTER, PORT JERVIS Friday, JUNE 13th: Small Quantity Generators (Must be pre-registered by MAY 30th) Saturday, JUNE 14th: Residents - PROOF OF RESIDENCY must be presented at time of disposal.

EVENT #3: DELANO HITCH STADIUM, NEWBURGH Friday, AUGUST 15th: Small Quantity Generators (Must be pre-registered by AUGUST 1ST) Saturday, AUGUST 16th: Residents - PROOF OF RESIDENCY must be presented at time of disposal.

EVENT #4: ORANGE COUNTY FIRE TRAINING CENTER, GOSHEN Friday, OCTOBER 17th: Small Quantity Generators (Must be pre-registered by OCTOBER 3RD ) Saturday, OCTOBER 18th: Residents - PROOF OF RESIDENCY must be presented at time of disposal.

Small Quantity Generators consist of Businesses/Schools/Municipalities SCHEDULED TIME FOR ALL EVENTS WILL BE 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

NO ELECTRONICS ACCEPTED DURING THESE EVENTS. Electronic Equipment MUST BE BROUGHT TO the Orange County Transfer Stations located in Goshen, Newburgh, and Port Jervis during normal business hours. Small Quantity Generators consist of Businesses/Schools/Municipalities and must call prior to electronics disposal to make arrangements.

Styrofoam
Orange Environment receives many questions each year about recycling Styrofoam. Unfortunately, the county is not presently recycling Styrofoam and claim that there are no viable markets.

Scale Rates

THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS MUST BE PAID FOR AT THE TRANSFER STATION

Tires
$1.50 to $6.00 per tire off the rim, price depends upon the size of the tire.
Price is double if the tire is still on the rim.
Large Quantity of tires are weighed at $150.00 per ton, $15.00 minimum charge.
Tires over 1200 X 24 are weighed at $600.00 per ton, $15.00 minimum charge.
Bicycle Tires
All sizes $.25 each
Motorcycle/ATV Tires
All sizes $.75 each
*Scrap Metal
(washers, dryers, stoves, etc.) $60.00 per ton, $15.00 minimum charge.
Refrigerators, Freezers & Other Appliances Containing Freon
$15.00 EACH

Construction & Demolition Debris (C & D): $75.00 per ton, $15.00 minimum charge.

*Yardwaste
(grass clippings, leaves, brush, etc.):ACCEPTED ONLY AT THE NEW HAMPTON TRANSFER STATION!

Pallets
$75.00 per ton, $15.00 minimum charge.

All Medical Sharps (Needles)
Sharps should be brought to your local hospital for disposal. The hospitals are required to accept any and all sharps for safe disposal.
Televisions, Computer Monitors, Towers, & Printers
FOR RESIDENTS - First is Free and $5.00 for each additional.
FOR BUSINESSES/HAULERS/MUNICIPALITIES - Must contact Barbara M. Conklin, (845) 291-2643 to schedule an appointment and for the completion of proper paper work.
